English fanciers, french names are unknown for you, that's a fact. Differences of language separate the people. French fanciers who speak english are very few and the opposite is worse.
On the other hand, in belgium and Holland a lot of people can speak english, they advertise in english. Amateurism is dead racing pigeon sport is a business.
In France, and Philippe Hamon is the good example, racing pigeon is a hobby. People spend time and money but racing pigeon business is not really welcome.
But France is really important in the world racing pigeon history.
Remember DORDIN and his immortal strain, GRUSON with the legedary SUPER CRACK (3 x 1st national winner)bought by R.VENUS (one of his grand son the famous PRINS is himself the father of 2 x 1st national winer on Pau.

And we can talk about an unknown thing: Maurice Casaert 's last successes are due to a french strain André Dedeyne from Halluin the best middle distance flyer I have ever known.
If you ask Maurice about his « BORGNE », « LE PETIT BLEU » he will tell you. You can find this strain in Sylvere toye's, willy Vanhoutte and many others.
Other names more older such as BRICOUX, SION, WINDZINSKY, TRONCQUOY are the proof that france is an important racing pigeon nation.
Philippe HAMON is a name now... years after years more and more people are talking about him. He is always named in the national french championship whatever the distance.

a small breeding station LE MOULIN ROUGE. This station (42 pairs)
kept different strains coming from the best, only the best not
especially fashionable strains.

this pair brought many satisfaction to his new onwer, philippe HAMON.
Jewel, bred by MOULIN ROUGE is 100% VERHEYE via A. DEDEYNE. (the same strain Casaert bought to the french man).
Jewel's father was 143, direct son of the Broken Wing, best BORGNE' son.
Jewel's mother is a direct son of Petit Bleu 12x1st price winner.
Athena bought to MOULIN ROUGE came from Michel STEVERLYNCK (Cyriel VANDERHAEGEN strain from menen).

Pigeons are separated after laying on +- 12 days, 3 weeks before racing. Hens are not presentated to the cock before they are banned. But on big races the system change and hens can stay with their cock 10 mns max acoording to the difficulty of the race.
For a long race Philippe sometimes pair back his pigeons 2 days before and let them a certain kind of freedom.
Between 2 races yearlings get a training (30 km)
For young birds, results are not important. They must go back to the loft in good condition.

after the astonishing success obtained with Vanhoutte, Verheye from MOULIN ROUGE. Philippe has bought some BATENBURGH and VAN DE MERWE, because they are well known in FRANCE to own the best at the MOULIN ROUGE breeding stud.
Batenburg has just won 2 x 2d national 5Mont de Marsan and Bourges) this year and Piet Van de Merwe recorded 1sd; 2d etc... against 14000 pigeons on CHANTILLY.
